The New Jersey Nursery & Landscape Association (NJNLA) prides themselves on showcasing outstanding projects done by their members in the areas of design, build, maintenance, ecological, and special projects! The awards program allows businesses in the industry a chance to create greater public awareness of the professional landscape community and show off the great work that they do. The award winners were announced at a special Landscape Awards Reception at Total Pro Expo, the area’s largest & most comprehensive trade show and conference in Edison, New Jersey!

Fitz’s Fish Ponds Wins Landscape Excellence Award for Kinnelon Project
Tim Bock, Pond Construction Sales Manager, and Tyler King, Service Sales/Account Manager, represented Fitz’s Fish Ponds and accepted the award at the reception! The project that won the “Landscape Excellence Award” featured a Front Yard Fishless Pond in Kinnelon, NJ. This project involved a remarkable transformation of a formal entrance in Kinnelon, NewJersey.
Unique Fishless Pond Entry with Bridge and Stunning Water Views
The unique front door entry features a bridge over a fishless pond resembling a moat, with windows and balconies offering views of the water feature. The homeowner’s request was to incorporate existing trees into the pond design, create soothing water sounds, and maintain clear pond water. The construction managers collaborated on the project, using digital software for design.
Award-Winning Fishless Pond Blends Nature with Elegant Design
The focus was on blending formal and natural elements, with attention to details like iron railings. Natural stone veneer and boulders were used in the retaining wall and waterfall. Multiple viewpoints were created for enjoying the water feature, with careful placement of grasses, shrubs, and trees. LED lights were installed for evening enjoyment. This project seamlessly integrates the natural environment with the home’s formal entrance providing a serene retreat.
